The second phase of this project involves extending the existing solution to provide additional services for the IFA customers. The project is SOA based, involving significant integration with existing legacy services on mainframes and IBM MQ, a common middle tier exposing .Net services, and a asp.net web front end. This also involved upgrading the existing architecture from .Net 1.1 and SQL Server 2000 to .Net 2.0 and SQL2005.

The project involved building a New Business Tracking system to communicate with the Assureweb providers on a daily basis and obtain the current status all New Business policies written across the industry. The project also involves building a new http/soap web service interface to allow this data and other existing Assureweb functionality to be exposed to authorized third parties for display in their own applications. The team is a cooperative model, including Practiv and Assureweb staff in both the UK and NZ. I was involved in this project all the way through the lifecycle of the project, including pre-sales, estimation, planning, recruitment, and technical delivery of the project.

The project is a J2EE service oriented solution to allow IFAs to quote on protection products and take the process straight through to policy completion on line. This involves integration with existing legacy services, Oracle databases, and third party document scanning and printing providers. The project consists of 4 analysts, consultants, architects, and over 20 developers in both the UK and NZ. My involvement in the project came towards the end of the project where I took control of the delivery team for the Testing, Bug Fixing, and UAT phases.
